The collision happened on Thursday, Feb. 13, around 4:45 a.m., when a pickup truck crashed into the Brewster Rotary Club’s community board, destroying it, the organization announced.

The truck also slammed into a tree belonging to the Southeast Fireworks Committee, according to the organization.

The Brewster Rotary Club, which has been a part of the community for 80 years, is now working to fundraise for a replacement sign—one that will be more modern and better equipped to keep residents informed about local events and initiatives.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact New York State Police.

In the meantime, a fundraiser has been launched to help cover the cost of the new board. Those interested in supporting the effort can donate online at this link.
